The yoga room is intentionally heated and humidified to create a healing environment for your body. Once you step into the yoga room, you will immediately begin to feel the benefits.
- The heat facilitates improved flexibility by warming your muscles and allowing for a full range of motion in muscles, joints and ligaments.
- The heat helps to heal and prevent injuries and allows for a deeper release in your body.
- The heat promotes sweating which detoxifies the body by flushing toxins from your body through the skin. Because of the detoxification that takes place in a hot yoga class, it is very important that you come to class hydrated and properly nourished. Students are encouraged to drink Coconut water before class to help ensure proper hydration.
- The temperature speeds up metabolism to burn free fatty acids and glucose more effectively in the blood stream.
- The heat stimulates the immune system by improving the production of cells to fight off infections.
- The heat increases the heart rate for a better cardio workout.
Students are encouraged to stay in the room for the entire class. It may take a couple of classes for your body and your mind to adapt to exercising in a heated room. If you should feel a little dizzy or tired, you can sit down until it passes which is usually only a minute or two. Make sure you come to class hydrated and with an empty stomach (eat 2 to 3 hours before class). Remember, it’s just yoga, have fun!
