FAQ

HOW DO I GET STARTED?
To get started, simply sign up for The Challenge at the front desk. Our computer system will track your visits during The Challenge period. In addition, we have a Challenge Board in the studio for you and your fellow challengers to keep track of your progress. We also have a Challenge Notebook located in the lobby with a page for each Challenger to reflect on their progress each week.

IS THERE A SPECIAL FEE FOR THE CHALLENGE?
No, there is no special fee
. The most economical method for participating in The Challenge is with an unlimited membership.

1 month unlimited $150/20 classes = $7.50
3 month unlimited $120/20 classes = $6.00
12 month unlimited $99/20 classes = $4.95

Note: If you currently have a class package (5-, 10-, or 25-class), and would like to purchase an unlimited membership for The Challenge, we will put your class package on hold. After you’ve completed The Challenge, we will release the hold so the classes are available to you without penalty.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN’T TAKE 5 CLASSES IN A WEEK?
There may be times when it’s impossible for you to take 5 classes in one week. Travel, work, children; there are a number of scenarios that could hinder your attendance for a 4- or 8-week period. As long as you take 20 classes within the 4-week or 40 classes within the 8-week period, you will successfully complete the Challenge. This may mean that some weeks you will need to take more than 5 classes to make up for weeks where you practiced less than 5 times.

WHY DO I WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CHALLENGE?
Because it’s fun!
When you practice 5 or more times a week over a 4 to 8 week period, you develop a deeper connection to your mind and your body as well as experience additional benefits of Hot Yoga such as a stronger and more flexible body (see the Benefits page for a full list). Plus you have a chance to win FREE Stuff!

WHAT KIND OF SUPPORT DOES HYA PROVIDE CHALLENGERS?
We will provide support and encouragement throughout the process. We will facilitate finding a buddy or mentor so you can motivate and support each other.

ARE THERE PRIZES FOR PEOPLE WHO COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE?
Yes
. Each person who completes The Challenge will receive a special gift in honor of completing The Challenge. In addition, each person who completes The Challenge will be entered into a drawing to win FREE Yoga Classes and Yogitoes accessories.


TIPS FOR SUCCESS

  • Make an appointment with yourself. Schedule your yoga classes into your calendar.
  • Set a realistic goal(s) for yourself. Write it down and say it out loud at least once a day. Here are a few examples:
    • My goal is to develop a stronger and more flexible body by practicing Hot Yoga 5 times per week for the next 8 weeks. I will arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of class to ensure that I have plenty of time to get organized with a couple of minutes to relax before the teacher enters the room. I will allow myself at least 2 full minutes of peace in final Savasana. I will reflect and document my progress each week in The Challenge notebook.
    • My goal is to take the mental and physical strength and flexibility I develop in Hot Yoga and apply it to my everyday life at home and at work. I will reflect and document examples of my Off the Mat, Into My Life experiences each week in The Challenge notebook.
  • Identify obstacles that may defy your success and plan mitigations early. For example, you may need to make special arrangements for child care or adjust your work schedule to accommodate The Challenge requirements.
  • Make people in your life aware of your commitment (at home and at work) and ask for their support.
  • Find a friend to do The Challenge with so that you can motivate and support each other.  If you don’t know someone, inquire at the front desk and the staff will find someone that will be a good match for you.
  • Seek out other students taking the Challenge for motivation, support and camaraderie.
  • The staff at HYA is always available for support and will provide encouragement throughout the process. Don’t hesitate to ask for more support.
  • Be diligent about tracking your classes on The Challenge Board at the studio and reflect on your progress weekly in The Challenge notebook located in the lobby.
