OFF THE MAT, INTO MY LIFE

Hot Yoga Benefits from an Athlete

I have always been an active person.

As a child I was playing outdoors whenever I could (most of the time) and took several types of dance lessons for many years. I was a dance instructor while in high school and my first two years of college.

I am currently a certified group fitness instructor and teach a variety of classes…..from Pilates to Total Body and Core Conditioning to Cardio Drumming. I also enjoy trail running and hiking…the longer, more intense…the better!

I am also a student. I take a variety of classes such as kickboxing….and of course….HOT YOGA.

Any type of yoga is wonderful for the body, mind and spirit, but I truly love the benefits of practicing Hot Yoga.

  • It is a fantastic compliment to my activities and one I feel is necessary.
  • It has allowed me to not only keep my flexibility, but has increased it significantly.
  • The deep breathing I have learned from it has increased my lung capacity and really helps during cardio workouts. It also comes in handy when I am stressed out and need to ground myself and find some peace in my world.
  • I find I am a lot more focused since attending classes and have increased my stamina and endurance…physically and mentally.
  • I also love how much I sweat during class. I feel so much better after ridding myself of toxins that are sometimes hard to avoid.

I recommend, at the very least, 2-3 classes per week.

The more you practice, the better you will feel. You might even find yourself becoming addicted.  I know I am. Trust me!
