Off the Mat, Into My Life
My journey began this past spring when I was suddenly laid off from my job. I unexpectedly found myself questioning everything about my life. One day I stood in front of a mirror and made the commitment to make my life healthier. I began to address my high levels of stress and where they were coming from…. though my job was good for paying the bills it was very bad for my overall health. I put my fears of the unknown on silence and moved forward. I stepped onto my yoga mat and begin to listen to what I needed. I love how I’m learning things about myself mentally, physically and spiritually and how they are all connected. Going through my daily life I find myself thinking about the things I learned during my yoga practice. Things like my breathing, posture, letting go of things I can’t control and living in the present moment. Physically yoga has helped tremendously with my flexibility and strength. With my new eating plan and practicing yoga I have lost over 25 lbs.
I’m so thankful I found Sandra and Hot Yoga Ahwatukee. My journey is on-going and always changing with every practice. I love how I feel better at 57 than I did at 47 (probably even 37!).
